DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Leatt Moto 6.5 is the boot for riders who want their gear to last. Its sole is Goodyear stitched, which Leatt chose for durability and easy sole replacement, and every pair comes with the LongLife Ride Kit: spare buckles, straps, toe caps and soles. In black, it pairs that long-life approach with a colour that hides hard use well.
Protection is equally thorough, with extensive TPU reinforcement, Dual Axis Ankle support, a rear torsion blade, 3DF impact foam and a SlideLock closure with forged aluminium buckles.
Key Features
- LongLife Ride Kit included: spare buckles, straps, toe caps and soles
- Goodyear stitched sole for durability and easy sole replacement
- Dual Axis Ankle support and rear torsion blade limiter
- Nubuck leather upper with extensive TPU protection
- Zamak alloy toe cap for grip on hard surfaces
- SlideLock one-way closure with stretch-fit collar
- CE certified to EN 13634:2017
Built for a long life
Rather than a glued sole, the Moto 6.5 uses a Goodyear stitched construction, which Leatt specifies for durability and for making it easy to fit a new sole. The included LongLife Ride Kit contains spare buckles, straps, toe caps and soles, so the parts that wear first can be replaced. The toe cap itself is made from Zamak alloy, with sharp edges that give grip on hard surfaces.
Protection
Extensive TPU protection runs throughout the boot. Dual Axis Ankle (D.A.A.) support is there to guide the ankle through a correct, controlled range of movement, and the rear torsion blade limiter stops the boot from extending too far forwards or backwards. 3DF impact-absorbing foam sits in the ankle zone. Leatt also equips the 6.5 with its FlexLock system, which controls ankle flexion with a lockout function. The boot is CE certified to EN 13634:2017, and its steel tempered shank is CE certified too.
SlideLock and stretch collar
A PA fabric top seal forms a stretch-fit collar around the calf, and the SlideLock one-way sliding closure at the top of the boot locks itself in place. Forged aluminium buckles with stainless-steel bases complete the closure.
Grip and control
Extended grip rubber on the ankle and metatarsal areas adds control and durability where the boot contacts the bike. The inside of the boot is flat and grippy for good bike feel, the low-profile toe box helps with shifting, and the heel-grip ankle design adds stability. Underfoot, the DualZone hardness sole has an extended footpeg riding zone.
Materials and comfort
The upper is 45% nubuck leather and 30% TPU, with the Zamak toe cap, a polyester 3D mesh liner and rubber making up the rest. Leatt states that the fit is outstanding even for wide feet, and the breathable 3D liner keeps the inside ventilated.
What you should know
Leatt specifies a weight of 4,999 g for the Moto 6.5, so this is a substantial boot that puts durability ahead of minimum weight. Nubuck leather benefits from regular cleaning and care. There is no waterproof membrane.
Colour
The black Moto 6.5 is dark from top to bottom: black nubuck, black TPU and a black sole, with polished metal buckles and a metallic toe cap. A silver-grey Leatt symbol sits on the shin, and "6.5" is printed in white on the side of the foot. It is the least sensitive colour to mud stains and leather wear, and it combines with any kit.
