DescriptionThe whole story▼
Three colour zones define the white and orange Leatt Moto 5.5 FlexLock Evo: orange at the top of the shin and the ankle, white through the middle and black around the foot and sole. The darker lower section is where boots take the most dirt and wear, so the bright colours stay where they look best.
Functionally, this is the full Evo: Leatt's adjustable FlexLock lower boot, a rear torsion blade against overflexion, TPU armour all round, the SlideLock closure with four forged aluminium Over-Lock buckles and a DualZone sole for feel on the pegs.
Key Features
- Orange, white and black colour scheme with black lower foot
- 3D bottom shell for sensitive footpeg feedback
- Extended footpeg riding zone on a DualZone hardness sole
- FlexLock lower boot, adjustable and designed by Leatt to reduce ankle and knee forces
- Reinforced TPU heel counter and 3DF ankle foam
- SlideLock closure plus four Over-Lock buckles in forged aluminium
- Certified CE to prEN 13634:2017
Feel and control
Leatt set up the 3D bottom shell of the Evo for peg sensitivity, so you can feel what the bike is doing beneath your feet. The DualZone sole pairs two hardness zones for grip and durability, the extended footpeg riding zone increases the contact area, and an integrated steel shank adds support. The low-profile toe box gets under the shift lever easily, and the heel-grip ankle design gives stability.
Fit
New ankle volumes, a one-piece front bellow and a new rear bellow help the boot flex with your leg, and the collar is made with elastic fabric. Leatt describes the fit as comfortable, including for wide feet. Inside, the two-piece padded lining is water-resistant, and a heel anti-slip reinforcement keeps the heel planted.
Impact and torsion protection
TPU shields the shin, ankle, heel and foot, with a reinforced TPU heel counter at the back for support and impact protection. 3DF impact foam, shaped in 3D, covers the ankles.
The adjustable FlexLock lower boot is Leatt's answer to ankle and knee loads: you set the flex, and the system is designed to reduce the forces involved. A rear torsion blade with an improved pivot bolt assembly limits overflexion forwards and backwards.
SlideLock and buckles
The one-way SlideLock closure locks itself at the top of the shaft and is handled with a Velcro pull-tab. Four forged aluminium Over-Lock buckles mounted on stainless-steel bases secure the rest of the boot.
Materials
Almost half of the boot is TPU. Synthetic leather, aluminium and rubber follow, with POM, nylon with carbon fibre, TPR and steel making up the rest. The boots are delivered in plastic-free packaging.
What you should know
White/Orange is available in a narrower size range, from EU 40.5 to EU 45.5 (US 7 to US 11); larger sizes are offered only in other colours. There is no waterproof membrane, only a water-resistant lining. Leatt specifies 4,550 g as the weight of the 5.5 FlexLock Evo.
Colour
The orange sits on the upper shin plate, around the ankle and on the side of the shaft; the white Leatt symbol is placed on the orange shin section. The middle of the boot and the upper rear are white, while the toe, the lower foot and the sole are black. Orange is highly visible and pairs naturally with orange bikes and kit, and the black foot section disguises the dirt that collects there.
