DescriptionThe whole story▼
Enduro riding rarely stays on the pegs. A stuck rear wheel, a rocky step or a steep hillclimb means walking, pushing and scrambling next to the bike, and that is the situation the Leatt Moto 5.5 FlexLock Enduro Evo was developed for. Its DualZone Enduro sole adds traction on loose, muddy and technical ground, while keeping the grip and feel you need on the footpegs.
Above that sole sits the protection of Leatt's Evo generation: TPU armour from shin to heel, an adjustable FlexLock lower boot, 3DF impact foam at the ankles and a rear torsion blade. The Graphene Black finish keeps the whole boot dark and low-key, which suits long days in the dirt.
Key Features
- DualZone Enduro sole with extra traction when you have to walk the bike
- Adjustable FlexLock lower boot that Leatt designs to reduce excessive forces around the ankle
- Rear torsion blade against excessive forward and backward flexion
- TPU protection for shin, ankle, heel and foot, plus 3DF foam over the ankles
- Elastic collar that helps keep dirt and debris out of the boot
- SlideLock one-way top closure and four forged aluminium Over-Lock buckles
- Certified to EN 13634:2017
Sole and grip off the bike
The defining part of this model is underneath. The DualZone Enduro sole uses a balanced grip pattern that bites into soft or slippery surfaces when you are on foot, yet it is still designed to give clear feedback on the pegs once you are back on the bike. An internal steel shank stiffens the sole and adds support under the arch, and Leatt describes the sole itself as CE certified.
Protection around the joint
Leatt uses extensive TPU armour on the shin, ankle, heel and foot. Around the ankles, 3D-shaped pieces of 3DF impact foam add cushioning against knocks. The FlexLock lower boot lets you set how freely the lower part of the boot flexes, and the rear torsion blade limits overflexion forwards and backwards, a combination aimed squarely at the twisting loads that come with rocks and ruts.
Collar, closure and sealing
A new collar construction with elastic fabric wraps the top of the boot more snugly and helps stop sand, stones and mud from working their way inside. The SlideLock closure moves in one direction only and seals the upper end; a Velcro pull-tab is used to operate it. Further down, four forged aluminium buckles with the Over-Lock system sit on stainless-steel bases.
Fit and freedom of movement
The 3D lower shell has been redesigned for a secure, supportive hold, and the ankle volumes were revised. Together with a flexible one-piece front bellow this is meant to give more freedom of movement, and Leatt states that the boot also fits riders with wider feet comfortably. A low-profile toe box gives easier access to the gear lever, and the heel-grip ankle design stabilises the foot.
Lining and comfort
Inside you find a two-piece padded lining that is water-resistant, together with an anti-slip heel design that reduces unwanted movement of the foot. The boots come in plastic-free packaging.
What you should know
The Enduro Evo has a water-resistant lining but no waterproof membrane, so deep water crossings or a full day of rain will eventually reach your socks. Leatt specifies a weight of 4,600 g, slightly more than the motocross version of the 5.5 FlexLock Evo. If you mainly ride tracks and seldom put a foot down off the bike, the standard Evo with its motocross sole may be the more fitting choice; the Enduro version earns its place wherever pushing and walking are part of the ride.
Colour
Graphene Black is a dark, near-monochrome finish: the shell, straps and sole are black, the panels shift between black and dark grey, and only the buckles in brushed metal and a few small red details stand out. There is no large white logo on the shin, which keeps the look calm and hides dried mud and scuffs well. Like every dark boot, it warms up more in strong sun than a white one.
