The Leatt Moto 4.5 in Black is the previous design of Leatt's 4.5 motocross boot, made for off-road riders who want comfort, protection and a secure hold on the foot in one package. The all-black version is the sober choice: dark shell, dark buckles, dark grey details and just a flash of red lining at the collar.
Its main strengths are a fit that Leatt shapes for a wide range of feet, wider ones included, the self-locking SlideLock closure at the top of the shaft and a sole that supports both arch and toe riding. On top of that it carries CE certification to EN 13634:2017.

Fit and comfort
Leatt designed the 4.5 to suit many foot shapes while still sitting snugly, and specifically mentions that wider feet fit well. That matters, because a boot that pinches at the forefoot gets tiring long before the end of a moto. Inside, a 3D breathable mesh liner lets warm air escape, and an anti-slip reinforcement at the heel keeps the foot from lifting, so the boot feels locked in when you stand up.
Closing the boot
The SlideLock system at the top slides in one direction and locks automatically, sealing the boot around the upper shin. Below it, polymer composite buckles with an Over-lock safety latch sit on stainless-steel bases. They adjust quickly, and Leatt uses the steel bases for strength and reliability over many seasons of buckling up.
Stability and control on the bike
The heel grip ankle design gives extra stability, especially when you ride standing on your toes through whoops or on the face of a jump. On the inner side, a flat profile with grippy TPU improves contact with the frame, which helps you steer with your legs. The low-profile toe box makes it easier to get under the gear lever for clean, precise shifts.
Sole
Leatt's DualZone hardness sole is built to deliver grip and durability across different ground. Its extended footpeg riding zone supports both arch and toe positions, so the boot works for riders who sit far back on the peg as well as those who ride on the balls of their feet. A steel shank reinforces the sole and keeps it stable under load.
Materials
The outer is largely TPU, with synthetic leather, rubber, nylon, TPR and POM parts, plus a small share of steel for the shank and buckle bases. The rubber is used for the sole, the TPU for the protective shell and grip areas.
What you should know
This is the previous Moto 4.5 design, not the new 4.5 Evo. There is no waterproof membrane, so the boot is not intended for deep water crossings or long rides in heavy rain. According to its labelling, the boot contains non-textile parts of animal origin. Black is available in EU 42 to EU 45.5 only, a narrower size run than the White version. Leatt lists a weight of 4,100 g for the model.
Colour
The Black version is black almost everywhere, from the shell and buckles to the rear grip panel and the shaft. Dark grey shows on the Leatt logo at the shin, the 4.5 marking on the toe, a few panels at the side and the sole tread, and a red lining is visible inside the collar. It is a discreet colour that hides mud, scuffs and boot marks well and goes with any kit, which makes it the easy choice if you do not want to match your boots to a specific bike.
