DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Leatt C-Frame Pro Carbon is the stripped-down carbon version of Leatt's single-hinge knee brace. It pairs an ultra-light carbon construction with a super-stiff mono-hinge chassis, and Leatt's focus here is support and bike feel: one hinge on the outside, a very low-profile inner side against the bike.
As a knee brace it guides the joint rather than just padding it. Leatt designed it to help reduce the risk of ACL, MCL and meniscus injuries.
Key Features
- Carbon chassis construction
- Super-stiff mono-hinge with three-point force distribution
- Very low-profile inner knee for superior bike feel
- Designed by Leatt to help reduce forces linked to ACL, MCL and meniscus injuries
- Hyperextension stops adjustable at 10°, 15°, 20° and 25°
- Impact protection certified to EN 1621-1 Level 1
- Engineered fracture points, shin plate that fits inside all boots
How the C-Frame supports the knee
The mono-hinge frame is extremely stiff and spreads load over three points along the leg. Leatt designed it this way to help reduce forces on the knee joint and the risk of injuries to the anterior cruciate ligament, the medial collateral ligament and the meniscus.
Hyperextension stops set the limit for straightening the knee and can be adjusted to 10°, 15°, 20° or 25°. Leatt names ACL injury reduction as their purpose. Which setting is right depends on your knee; a physician or physiotherapist can advise if you have had an injury.
Impact certification
The C-Frame Pro Carbon is CE tested and certified as impact protection to EN 1621-1 Level 1 for the knee. Leatt describes this as impact-certified protection; it does not list a separate gel knee cup for this model.
Safety by design
Leatt has engineered and lab-tested fracture points into the chassis. The C-Frame is designed to break before the tibia or femur would, so that in an extreme crash the brace gives way instead of passing the load to the bone.
Bike feel and boots
With the hinge only on the outside, the inner knee profile stays very slim, which lets you grip the bike closely. A comfortable, low-profile shin plate with a load distribution pad sits at the bottom of the brace and is designed to fit inside all boots.
Sizes and packaging
Three sizes are available: S/M, L/XL and XXL. Measure carefully, because a knee brace only works when the hinge lines up with the joint. Leatt ships the brace in plastic-free packaging.
Riding use
Leatt lists the C-Frame Pro Carbon for motocross, enduro and trail riding.
What you should know
Compared with the C-Frame Hybrid, Leatt's product page for the Pro Carbon does not mention the ReaFlex gel knee cup with hard-shell slider. If you want that dedicated kneecap cushion, the Hybrid is the model that has it. A brace must be set up carefully and checked after any hard crash, since the frame is designed to break under extreme load. No brace can prevent every injury.
Colour
The black carbon finish is the essence of this model: it looks lean and technical, and the dark chassis disappears under motocross pants of any colour. Scratches on carbon show as lighter lines over time, which is cosmetic.
