DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Leatt C-Frame Hybrid is a knee brace, not a knee pad. It guides the knee joint with a stiff carbon chassis and a single hinge on the outside of the leg, and Leatt designed it to help reduce the forces that can lead to ACL, MCL and meniscus injuries.
The word Hybrid refers to the knee cup: a ReaFlex impact gel cushion with a hard-shell slider on top, which adds CE-certified impact protection to EN 1621-1 Level 1 on the kneecap. You get joint guidance and kneecap protection in one product.
Key Features
- Carbon chassis with a super-stiff mono-hinge
- Three-point force distribution, designed by Leatt to help reduce forces on the knee
- Hybrid ReaFlex impact gel knee cup with hard-shell slider
- Kneecap impact protection certified to EN 1621-1 Level 1
- Adjustable hyperextension stops at 10°, 15°, 20° and 25°
- Lab-tested built-in fracture points to protect tibia and femur
- Very low-profile inner knee for close bike feel
Joint guidance
A knee brace works differently from a guard. The C-Frame's mono-hinge chassis is very stiff and spreads load across three points of the leg, and Leatt designed this to help reduce forces on the knee and the risk of ACL, MCL and meniscus injuries. Hyperextension stops limit how far the knee can straighten; you can set them at 10°, 15°, 20° or 25°, with ACL injury reduction as the stated aim.
Built to break in the right place
The C-Frame chassis has engineered fracture points that Leatt has tested in the lab. In an extreme crash the frame is designed to break before the shin bone (tibia) or thigh bone (femur) does. This is a deliberate safety feature: a brace that is too strong could transfer the load to the bone.
Kneecap protection
The hybrid knee cup combines ReaFlex impact gel with a hard-shell slider. The gel cushions, the slider helps the knee glide on impact. Leatt certifies this impact protection to EN 1621-1 Level 1, so the C-Frame Hybrid covers both jobs that riders otherwise solve with a brace plus a separate knee guard.
Bike feel and boot fit
The single hinge sits on the outside, so the inner side of the knee stays very low profile. That gives a direct feel for the bike when you grip with your knees. At the bottom, a comfortable, low-profile shin plate with a load distribution pad is designed to fit inside all boots.
Sizes
The C-Frame Hybrid comes in S/M, L/XL and XXL. A knee brace has to sit precisely on the joint, so take your measurements carefully and follow Leatt's sizing guidance before ordering. Packaging is plastic-free.
What you should know
A knee brace limits movement and needs careful set-up: hinge position, strap tension and the hyperextension stop all affect how it works, so follow the manual. No brace can rule out injuries. The brace is designed to break under extreme load to protect your bones, which means a brace that has taken a hard crash must be checked and possibly replaced. If you have an existing knee injury, ask your doctor which hyperextension setting suits you.
Colour
The black carbon chassis and black knee cup give the C-Frame Hybrid a technical, understated look under any pant colour. Carbon's woven surface stays visible up close, and black hardware does not draw attention to the hinge.
