DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Leatt ADV FlowTour 5.5 is built for heat first. Large X-Flow mesh panels let air pass straight through the jacket, which makes it the choice for summer tours, desert tracks and slow technical sections where a sealed jacket would leave you soaked in sweat. For the moment the weather turns, a separate HydraDri EVO over-jacket travels in the rear cargo pocket.
In Forest, the dark shell is lifted by olive green mesh zones on the chest and back, a colour that blends naturally into gravel roads and woodland trails.

- 3DF Level 2 protectors for back, shoulders and elbows, optional Level 2 chest protector

Ventilation First
Where touring jackets usually rely on vents that you open and close, the FlowTour 5.5 keeps its mesh panels open all the time. Leatt describes this as permanent airflow. Combined with a soft neoprene finish on the collar, the jacket stays comfortable when you are standing on the pegs at low speed on a hot day. The RipStop main fabric surrounds the mesh and covers the areas most exposed in a crash.
Rain Strategy
The waterproof layer is not a liner but an over-jacket. When rain arrives you take it from the rear cargo pocket and pull it over the mesh shell, or you wear it on its own off the bike. With HydraDri EVO rated at 20,000 mm and 20,000 g/m², it blocks rain while letting moisture out. Leatt calls this a four-way system: mesh shell, shell with over-jacket, over-jacket alone, and the layers combined for wind protection.
Armour and Certification
Level 2 3DF pads are fitted at the back (EN 1621-2) and at the shoulders and elbows (EN 1621-1). A pocket for a Level 2 chest protector is prepared, but the protector itself is optional and not supplied. The whole jacket is certified to Class AA, so the mesh does not mean a step down in the protection rating compared with Leatt's laminated touring models.
Hydration and Storage
A rear pocket takes a 1.5-litre HydraPak bladder, with routing for the feed tube, a tube clip holder and internal weight distribution straps that stop the load from pulling the jacket backwards. The bladder is sold separately. Up front you get two large waterproof pockets, a zipped chest pocket and a waterproof phone pocket, and the large rear pocket also stores the over-jacket.
Adjustment
A slide buckle with webbing strap sets the waist, snaps adjust the upper and lower arms (the lower set also keeps the elbow protectors in place), and hook and loop closes the cuffs and hem. YKK main zips and a long connection zip for matching Leatt pants complete the fit.
What you should know
The mesh shell itself is not waterproof. On a wet day you need the over-jacket on top, and in cool weather the open mesh lets wind through; there is no thermal liner in this jacket. The hydration bladder and the chest protector are separate purchases. The jacket weighs about 2,100 g. Leatt includes a 5-year warranty and plastic-free packaging.
Colour
Forest combines a black RipStop body with olive green mesh on the chest, back and upper sleeves, where a fine dotted pattern shows through the panels. The green reads as earthy rather than bright, so it does little for visibility in traffic; the reflective details carry that job after dark. Dust and mud are less obvious on the dark sleeves than on a light jacket.
