DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Leatt ADV 5.5 ThermaFlow is a slimline, high-tech insulation layer for adventure riders who want real warmth under their riding jacket without extra bulk. Leatt describes it as the highest-performing yet thinnest insulation jacket in its ADV mid layer line. The core is a graphene-infused 3D block fleece backing behind a wind-blocking softshell, and the Midnight Blue colour makes it smart enough to wear around camp or in a café.
Key Features
- Graphene-infused 3D block fleece backing for even heat distribution
- Double-knitted wind-blocking softshell outer
- DWR C0/20 water-repellent finish
- Elbows and seat reinforced with 4-way stretch ripstop
- Overlocked seams with internal taping
- Two hand-warmer pockets with YKK zips, key loop in pocket
- UPF 50+, Bluesign approved materials
Graphene Insulation
Leatt uses a fleece backing with graphene, a material that is only an atom thick and, according to Leatt, the lightest and strongest conductive material on the market. Its job here is thermal management: the graphene picks up heat from warm spots and spreads it through the fabric, so the temperature across your torso evens out instead of leaving cold patches.
Weather Resistance
The double-knitted outer is wind-blocking, which is what matters most under a vented adventure jacket at speed. Leatt adds a DWR C0/20 treatment, an eco version of a dirt and water repellent finish, so light showers bead off when you wear it on its own off the bike. The jacket meets the latest USA PFAS standard, according to Leatt.
Fit for Layering
Slimline stretch forearms and a fitted body keep the ThermaFlow 5.5 from bunching under a riding jacket. The elbows and seat are reinforced with lightweight 4-way stretch ripstop, both points where a mid layer tends to wear through. A concealed shock-cord hem adjustment closes the gap at the waist.
Comfort and Storage
Overlocked seams with internal taping prevent chafing on long days. Two hand-warmer pockets close with YKK zips, and a key loop inside one pocket keeps the bike key from going missing. The main zip is YKK, reflective details add visibility, and a hanging loop helps with drying.
On and Off the Bike
Leatt designed the 5.5 ThermaFlow for layering under riding gear and for wearing around camp. Under a jacket it keeps your core warm on cold passes; on its own the softshell look, the zipped hand pockets and the water-repellent surface make it a practical everyday jacket on a trip.
What you should know
The ADV 5.5 ThermaFlow is a mid layer and not protective clothing: there are no protectors and no EN 17092 certification. Its finish is water repellent, not waterproof, so for real rain it belongs under a waterproof jacket. The jacket weighs about 750 g. This colour is offered in sizes S to XXL. Leatt includes a 5-year warranty and plastic-free packaging.
Colour
Midnight Blue shows a dusty mid-blue body with a fine grid texture, black elbow panels, a black hem band and a black chest panel carrying a small red Leatt label. The blue is calm enough for everyday wear and contrasts well with black riding gear. Under a jacket the colour does not matter, off the bike it looks like a technical outdoor softshell.
