DescriptionThe whole story▼
Getting a young rider fully protected should be quick and simple. The Leatt Fusion Vest 2.0 Jr makes it so by building neck, chest, back, flank and shoulder protection into a single vest. One piece goes on, and the most important zones of the upper body are covered, including a neck brace.
Leatt calls the Fusion Vest the easiest way to protect young riders. It needs no tools for adjustment, uses soft, ventilated 3DF AirFit foam for torso and shoulders and is cut in a 3D shape for all-round comfort. This black version keeps the look understated, so it suits any junior kit.
Key Features
- Neck brace, chest, back, flank and shoulder protection in one vest
- Chest EN 1621-3 Level 1, back EN 1621-2 Level 1, shoulders EN 1621-1 Level 1
- Soft, ventilated 3DF AirFit impact foam
- Neck brace structure of fiberglass-reinforced polyamide resin
- Engineered fracture point on the rear thoracic strut
- No-tool adjustment and number plate clip-in function
- ISR rated, junior sizes for 105 to 165 cm
Neck Brace and Body Armour Combined
At the top of the vest sits an integrated neck brace. Its structure is made of fiberglass-reinforced polyamide resin, and the rear thoracic strut has an engineered fracture point designed to snap off in an emergency. Below it, the vest carries CE-certified impact protection for chest, back and shoulders, plus flank protection along the sides.
Leatt cites an independent moto study by Action Sports EMS, according to which the Fusion Vest helps reduce critical cervical spine injuries by up to 89 % and the risk of collarbone injuries by up to 45 %. These are manufacturer statements based on that study.
Certification
The impact zones are CE-tested and certified at Level 1: chest to EN 1621-3, back to EN 1621-2 and shoulders to EN 1621-1. The Fusion Vest 2.0 Jr is also ISR rated, and Leatt publishes an EU Declaration of Conformity and a CE certificate for it.
Sizing for Growing Riders
Leatt offers three junior sizes, S/M, L/XL and XXL, covering riders from 105 to 165 cm. The 3D design and soft foam make the vest comfortable to wear, and because adjustment works without tools, it is quick to put on and take off between sessions. Leatt lists the weight from 1.38 kg.
Comfort and Details
3DF AirFit is Leatt's soft, ventilated impact foam. It keeps young riders comfortable throughout the ride and lies close to the body under the jersey. A number plate clip-in function rounds off the vest. It ships in plastic-free packaging.
Two further details come from Leatt's product data: a collarbone cut-out that takes pressure off one of the most fragile bones in the body, and a side-entry design, so the chest protection runs across the front without a gap.
What you should know
The Fusion Vest covers chest, back, shoulders, flanks and neck, but not elbows or knees; add separate junior guards for those. All impact zones are certified at Level 1. Leatt's web page states the weight as "from 1.38g", which we read as 1.38 kg; the older Leatt product data gives 1.5 kg. Make sure the size matches your child's height, since a neck brace only works properly when it sits correctly.
Colour
The black Fusion Vest pairs a black neck brace and plates with white Leatt logos and red-and-white buckles on the side straps, according to Leatt's product images. It is the discreet choice that goes with any jersey and does not show every scuff from a fall.
