DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Knox Action Pro Waterproof glove is the all-season addition to the Action Pro collection, the range best known for its armoured shirts and trousers. Knox designed it as a soft, stretchy short-cuff glove that stays dry thanks to HDry 3D direct lamination, a patented waterproofing method in which the membrane is bonded directly to the inside of the outer shell.
It comes in Black, sizes XS to 3XL, and is CE approved to EN 13594.
Key Features
- HDry 3D direct lamination waterproof system
- Shell in Sorona Agile fabric from DuPont, partly made from plant-based polymers
- Silicone-printed Clarino overlay for extra grip
- Micro-Lock knuckle for impact absorption
- Low-profile Knox Scaphoid Protection System (SPS) on the palm
- Velcro wrist closure
- Reflective detailing and touchscreen function
- CE approved to EN 13594
Why HDry matters
With many waterproof gloves, the membrane is a separate insert. Rain soaks the outer layer first, the glove gets heavy and the hands feel cold even though no water reaches the skin. Knox explains that HDry works differently: the membrane is directly laminated to the inner side of the shell in a 3D process, so shell and membrane are sealed together with no space in between.
Rain is blocked at the outer surface. According to Knox this keeps the Action Pro Waterproof from getting wet and heavy, helps hands stay warmer for longer and lets the gloves dry faster. Knox also credits the system with improved dexterity, because there is no loose layer moving inside the glove.
Sustainable stretch fabric
The Action Pro Waterproof is made with Sorona Agile from DuPont, an eco-efficient fibre that is partly made with plant-based polymers. Knox highlights its high strength, stretch and stain resistance. The price list gives the composition as 85 percent polyester, 10 percent elastane and 5 percent nylon, with a 100 percent polyester lining. The glove contains no leather, which keeps it lightweight, breathable and flexible.
Protection
Discreet Micro-Lock knuckle protection absorbs impacts over the knuckles. On the palm Knox fits a low-profile version of its Scaphoid Protection System. It is meant to eliminate the grab effect when a palm contacts the road, reducing the risk of hyperextension, which Knox names as a typical cause of a broken scaphoid. The glove is CE approved to EN 13594; Knox does not state a performance level.
Grip, closure and visibility
A silicone-printed Clarino overlay adds grip on the controls. The short cuff closes with a Velcro wrist strap for quick, secure fitting, and reflective details increase visibility in the dark. The fingertips are touchscreen enabled.
Size and fit
Knox sizes its gloves by palm circumference, measured around the widest part of the palm over the knuckles with a closed fist, and by hand length from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger. The Knox chart for this glove reads:
- XS: palm circumference 200 mm, hand length 179 mm
- S: 215 mm / 186 mm
- M: 230 mm / 193 mm
- L: 245 mm / 200 mm
- XL: 260 mm / 207 mm
- XXL (2XL): 275 mm / 214 mm
- 3XL: 290 mm / 221 mm
If your hand matches one value but not the other, or you prefer a looser fit, Knox recommends the next size up.
What you should know
The Action Pro Waterproof is an all-season rain-capable glove, not an insulated winter glove; Knox mentions no thermal lining. The short cuff should go under the jacket sleeve so that water cannot run into the glove. The glove is sold as unisex and sized on the Knox hand chart, which is labelled as men's sizes; riders with slim hands should measure carefully and look at XS. There is no long-cuff version of this model.
Colour
Black is the only colour for this glove. It suits the black Action Pro shirts and trousers as well as any other jacket, and it is the least sensitive colour when riding through spray and wet road dirt. The reflective details show up well against the black fabric at night.
