DescriptionThe whole story▼
Upgrade your Honda CBR 1000 RR's front-end feel without needing a factory budget. The K-Tech TRDS-R Closed Cartridge Kit brings genuine race-derived Through-Rod technology to everyday track and road riders, giving you the same precision adjustment that British Superbike and Isle of Man TT competitors rely on — now accessible for any CBR 1000 RR from 2012 to 2019.
Key Features
- 36 clicks of independent compression adjustment and 36 clicks of independent rebound adjustment for precise, repeatable fork tuning
- Through-Rod Damping System (TRDS-R) delivers clean, accurate feedback so you always know exactly what the front wheel is doing
- Compact closed-cartridge design improves heat dissipation, keeping damping consistent even under sustained race temperatures
- Supplied with a matching spring set — everything you need to set up the fork correctly from day one
- Suggested baseline settings of 16 clicks compression and 16 clicks rebound mean you can find a usable road or track setup quickly, with room to fine-tune in either direction
- Developed and proven in top-level competition, including British Superbike and the Isle of Man TT
Performance You Can Feel on Every Ride
The TRDS-R architecture routes the damping rod through the full length of the cartridge, eliminating the pressure imbalance that limits conventional cartridge kits at corner entry and on the brakes. The result is a fork that feels planted and progressive rather than vague or spikey — a quality you notice immediately, whether you are setting lap times at a trackday or threading through fast back roads.
Heat build-up is the quiet enemy of fork consistency. The closed-cartridge format keeps oil temperature controlled even over long stints, so the fork behaves the same on lap twenty as it did on lap one. For riders who want to improve their times without resorting to exotic sponsorship, that predictability is enormously valuable.
Fitment and Compatibility
This kit is designed specifically for the Honda CBR 1000 RR covering model years 2012 through 2019. It is not a universal part — every dimension, including the 130 mm stroke and 18 mm preload adjustment range, has been engineered for the stock fork tubes on this generation of CBR.
K-Tech recommends installation by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre to ensure correct assembly, oil fill and baseline settings. Correct installation is essential to guarantee both performance and safety.
