Built for the demands of professional racing and proven at the highest levels of competition — including the British Superbike Championship and the Isle of Man TT — the K-Tech DDS Pro rear shock absorber is the definitive suspension upgrade for the Honda CBR 1000 RR and SP (2008–2016). Five independent adjustment circuits give you surgical control over chassis behaviour, whether you are chasing lap times on a closed circuit or extracting everything from a fast road.
Key Features
- Five-way adjustability for comprehensive suspension tuning across all riding conditions
- 32-click compression damping adjustment for precise control over bump absorption and chassis stability
- 32-click rebound damping adjustment for fine-tuned wheel recovery and cornering composure
- 16-click ByPass Valve (BPV) adjustment targets low-shaft-speed damping directly, improving tyre feedback and rear traction
- Hydraulic spring preload adjustment — fast, tool-free changes between sessions or riders
- Length adjustment allows ride height and chassis geometry to be dialled in for individual circuits or riding styles
- CNC-machined components throughout for the strength-to-weight ratio demanded by professional teams
- DDS technology with integrated potentiometer mounting points for data-logging compatibility
- Wide range of spring rates available to suit every rider weight and riding style
Race-Developed Technology
The DDS Pro platform was not engineered in a laboratory and rolled straight to market — it has been developed iteratively alongside professional racing teams in some of the most demanding series in the world. The ByPass Valve system is the key differentiator at this level: by independently controlling damping at low shaft velocities, it decouples the tuning of chassis stability from tyre compliance in a way that conventional twin-tube or piggyback designs cannot match. The result is more consistent tyre contact patch loading through slow, technical corners, and better drive traction on exit where it matters most on the stopwatch.
Precision Construction
Every structural component is CNC-machined from high-grade aluminium, eliminating the dimensional variance that can compromise a shock absorber's feel and longevity under the thermal and mechanical stress of track use. The 35 mm body diameter and 12 mm shaft are sized for the robust damping forces required by a litre-class superbike. Recommended baseline settings — 8 clicks compression, 10 clicks rebound, 8 clicks BPV, 12 mm preload — provide an intelligent starting point validated on the CBR platform, so you are never beginning setup from zero.
Fitment and Compatibility
This unit is designed and tested specifically for the following motorcycles:
- Honda CBR 1000 RR (2008–2016)
- Honda CBR 1000 RR SP (2008–2016)
Upper mount: eye type, 26 mm wide, 10 mm bolt diameter. Lower mount: eye type, 39 mm wide, 10 mm bolt diameter. Installation requires specialist tools and techniques; fitting by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre is strongly recommended to ensure safety and optimal performance.
