Developed in and continuously refined by the demands of the British Superbike Championship and the Isle of Man TT, the K-Tech DDS Pro rear shock absorber delivers race-grade control to the Ducati Panigale 1299 and 1299 S for model years 2015 to 2018. This is not a road shock with racing ambitions — it is a genuine competition unit engineered for riders who demand total feedback, maximum traction and the ability to dial in geometry precisely for any circuit or condition.
Key Features
- Five-way adjustability gives a complete toolkit for suspension setup: compression, rebound, bypass valve, hydraulic preload and length adjustment in a single unit.
- 32-click compression damping adjustment for exact control over how the shock absorbs bumps and braking forces.
- 32-click rebound damping adjustment ensures the tyre maintains optimum contact with the surface as the shock extends.
- 16-click Bypass Valve (BPV) adjustment — the defining DDS Pro feature — provides fine-resolution tuning of low-speed shaft damping to sharpen tyre feedback and maximise grip under acceleration and in corners.
- Hydraulic spring preload adjustment allows fast, tool-free setup changes between sessions or riding styles.
- Length adjustment enables precise ride-height and chassis geometry optimisation to suit the track layout or rider preference.
- CNC-machined components throughout for the dimensional accuracy and structural integrity that sustained race use demands.
- DDS-Technology chassis with integrated potentiometer mounting points for data-acquisition compatibility.
- Wide range of available spring rates to match rider weight and track characteristics precisely.
DDS Pro Technology
The Dual Damping System (DDS) at the heart of this shock separates high-speed and low-speed damping circuits, giving the rider independent control over both. Where many aftermarket units offer only a combined low/high compression adjuster, the K-Tech DDS Pro introduces the Bypass Valve as a dedicated third compression circuit. The BPV operates exclusively on low shaft velocities — the regime that governs tyre feel over subtle surface changes, mid-corner load transfer and drive traction. Sixteen clicks of BPV adjustment represent a level of resolution that allows trackside engineers to transform handling character without changing the overall damping balance.
Race-Proven Background
K-Tech Suspension built its reputation supplying and supporting teams competing at the highest levels of British road racing, including the British Superbike Championship and the Isle of Man TT. The DDS Pro is the direct result of that programme: every detail, from the internal valving architecture to the external adjuster ergonomics, reflects lessons learned under race conditions. Riders purchasing this unit receive the same specification used by professional teams, along with K-Tech's recommended baseline settings derived from real-world data on the Panigale platform.
Installation Note
For maximum safety and to ensure the shock performs to its full potential, installation by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre is strongly recommended. Correct fitment requires specialist tools and knowledge of chassis geometry.
