DescriptionThe whole story▼
Precision-engineered from the ground up for the BMW S1000RR K67, the K-Tech DDS Closed STK Cartridge Kit delivers race-derived damping performance that is fully approved for Superstock 1000 competition. Built around K-Tech's patented Direct Damping System, every component in this kit reflects the exacting standards proven at the British Superbike Championship and the Isle of Man TT.
Key Features
- 30-way independently adjustable compression and rebound damping for precise, rider-specific chassis setup
- Patented DDS (Direct Damping System) design eliminates cavitation and maintains consistent, predictable damping even under the harshest race conditions
- 20 mm piston and 31 mm control valves optimise oil flow for a finer feel and faster response across the full stroke
- Asymmetric, independently operating damping circuits improve dynamics and reaction time over a conventional cartridge
- Increased stroke compared to the original factory cartridge — more travel, more control
- Pressurised spring force keeps the system stable at all times, preventing fade or inconsistency mid-corner
- Fully approved for Superstock 1000 classes — race-legal straight from the box
Build Quality and Materials
The DDS Closed STK kit is a testament to what happens when racing engineering meets meticulous manufacturing. The 8 mm piston rod minimises system offset and reduces flex under hard braking loads, while the tight tolerances across the 20 mm piston and 31 mm control valves ensure that the hydraulic circuit behaves exactly as intended lap after lap. The cartridge is designed as a direct replacement for the OEM unit inside the S1000RR K67 fork leg, requiring no modification to the fork tube itself. The result is a thoroughly race-tested assembly whose dimensional integrity holds up whether you are setting lap records at Brands Hatch or carrying race pace over the mountain at the TT.
Performance on Road and Track
With 30 clicks of adjustment on both compression and rebound, and an 18 mm preload range, the DDS Closed STK gives riders and technicians a genuinely wide tuning window. The recommended baseline settings — 16 compression clicks, 18 rebound clicks, 10 mm preload, and a 175 mm oil/air cushion — provide an excellent starting point from which precise fine-tuning can be dialled in for individual track surfaces or rider preference. The increased stroke over the standard cartridge translates directly into improved feedback and composure over kerbs and mid-corner bumps, where the original unit can run out of travel. Three pairs of springs are included to cover a broad rider weight range, allowing setup to be optimised without sourcing additional components.
Fitment and Compatibility
This cartridge kit is designed and validated specifically for the following motorcycle:
- BMW S1000RR K67 — model years 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026
Installation must be carried out exclusively by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre to ensure maximum safety and full performance. Fitting by an unqualified party may compromise both function and warranty.
