DescriptionThe whole story▼
Engineered exclusively for closed-circuit competition, the K&N DU-1112R Racing Air Filter meets the demands of asphalt track use by dramatically increasing airflow to the engine — the foundation of every horsepower gain you can feel exiting a corner on a Ducati Panigale 899 or 959. Unlike road-legal filters, this race-specific unit is built around one priority: maximum engine performance under extreme track conditions.
Key Features
- Dramatically increased airflow over the stock filter, translating directly into improved throttle response and peak power output on track.
- Designed specifically for asphalt circuit use — every design decision prioritises outright performance rather than road-use compromise.
- Excellent filtration efficiency protects the engine from dust and debris without restricting the airflow the Panigale's engine needs to breathe freely at race RPM.
- Race-dedicated construction handles the extreme conditions of competitive riding, including sustained high-revving operation and elevated ambient temperatures.
- Not approved for road or off-road use — this filter is a pure track component, intended for competition machinery only.
Track-Focused Engineering
K&N's Racing series filters exist outside the constraints placed on road-legal products. The DU-1112R is not a high-flow street filter repurposed for the circuit — it is developed from the ground up for racing engines that demand the freest possible intake charge. On a Panigale 899 or 959, where the intake system is already highly optimised, swapping to the DU-1112R removes one of the remaining restrictions, allowing the engine management system to work with the volume of air it was always capable of processing. The result is sharper engine response and measurable gains in power delivery exactly where they matter: mid-corner and on the exit.
Safety & Compliance Notice
The K&N DU-1112R carries no road-use approval and is not certified for use on public roads in any jurisdiction. Fitting this filter to a road-registered motorcycle may render the vehicle non-compliant with applicable type-approval regulations. It is intended solely for use on closed-circuit racing events. Riders should confirm with their race series technical regulations that this filter is permitted before fitting.
Fitment & Compatibility
The DU-1112R is a direct-fit racing air filter for the following models:
- Ducati Panigale 899 — 2013 to 2015
- Ducati Panigale 959 — 2016 to 2019
No modification is required for fitment; the filter locates into the existing airbox using the standard mounting points.
