DescriptionThe whole story▼
The MT-10 SP adds Öhlins semi-active suspension to the crossplane naked. The JP CO YA003 replaces its combined throttle housing and switch block with milled Ergal.
Key Features
- Yamaha MT-10 SP (2022–2024)
- Integrated right-hand switch block
- Machined from a single block of Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
- Replaces housing and switch together
- Black anodised
Electronic Suspension on a Naked Bike
The SP's Öhlins units adjust damping continuously according to what the inertial measurement unit reports. On a motorcycle with 165 hp and no bodywork that is more useful than it sounds, because the chassis has to cope with a very wide range of loads in a short space of time.
Silver Bodywork and a Parts-Bin Switch
Yamaha gives the SP its own paint, a different seat and the R1M's colour scheme. Against that, the standard moulded throttle assembly is the component that most obviously came from the ordinary production line, which is why owners of this version replace it more often.
One Component, Two Jobs
The right-hand controls sit inside the throttle housing rather than clamping to the bar. Replacing either means replacing both, and this unit does exactly that from a single billet of Ergal 7075 using Yamaha's own connector.
Ride-by-Wire Precision
The housing holds the throttle position sensor. Any slack in the assembly translates directly into vagueness at the throttle bodies, which on a bike whose electronics are calibrated as carefully as the SP's is worth avoiding.
Sealed Inside
The switch elements are sealed units and the body has no moulded joint. On a naked motorcycle ridden year-round, that construction is what determines whether the controls still feel accurate in the fifth season.
A Short Fitment
2022 to 2024, the Euro 5 generation. The earlier MT-10 used a different loom and the 2025 bike changed again, so the registration year rather than the model name decides.
