The closed throttle housing with RR milled into the flank. The JP CO BM008RR replaces the K46 S1000RR's throttle assembly and right-hand switches in one machined body.

Two Letters BMW Has Earned
RR arrived in 2009 on a motorcycle nobody expected the company to build, and within a season it had rearranged the class. Fifteen years later the designation carries more weight at BMW than any other except GS. Milling it into a cockpit component repeats something already present on the fairing and the tail unit.
Cut Rather Than Printed
The lettering is machined into the aluminium before anodising, so it takes the same finish as the rest of the body and cannot lift, fade or peel. On a motorcycle that spends its weekends being pressure washed in a paddock, an applied badge would not last a season.
Still Four Colours
Unlike the boxer housings, this family is anodised in black, red, blue or titanium. On an RR in the Motorsport livery the blue picks up the fairing directly. On a plain black bike, black or titanium keeps the cockpit quiet, which is what most owners of track-prepared machines prefer.
Closed Body
The BM008 shape is fully enclosed and round in section, as opposed to the relieved BM018 body also listed for this motorcycle. Both carry identical controls. Which one suits is a question of how much of the handlebar and cable run the owner wants visible.
What It Replaces
The standard part is the throttle housing with the right-hand switch block inside it, sold only as a complete assembly. This unit takes over both functions, plugs into the original connector and requires no change to the wiring or the motorcycle's electronics.
