DescriptionThe whole story▼
The M1000R is a naked bike with winglets and 210 hp. The JP CO BM038 replaces its combined throttle housing and right-hand switch block with milled Ergal.

- Machined from a single block of Ergal 7075
- Integrated right-hand switch block
- Black anodised
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
Aerodynamics on a Bike With No Fairing
Fitting winglets to a motorcycle that has no bodywork to integrate them into is either brave or absurd depending on the observer, and BMW did it anyway. They work, in the sense that the front end stays planted at speeds where the standard S1000R starts to feel light. They also make the M1000R impossible to mistake for anything else.
The M Treatment Stops at the Bars
Carbon wheels, M brakes, a reworked engine and a specific chassis setup, and then the same moulded switch assembly the base bike uses. There is a consistency to it: BMW spent the budget where it changes lap times. The cockpit is where an owner spends their own.
Machined Against Exposed Metal
The M1000R shows more of its structure than almost anything else BMW builds. The frame spars, the swingarm and the engine cases are all in view, and a throttle housing cut from billet sits among them in a way a moulded shell does not. It is a cosmetic argument and on this motorcycle a strong one.
Sealed and One-Piece
No fairing means no protection for the controls. The body is milled from a single block with no joint, and the switch elements are sealed rather than open. Those two facts are what determine how the assembly feels after four or five years of year-round use.
Plugs Into the Standard Loom
The original BMW connector is used and the motorcycle's electronics are unchanged. Ride modes, traction settings and cruise control all behave exactly as before the change, and no diagnostic work is needed afterwards.
