DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ACS 050V4R is the throttle housing cut for the Panigale V4 R specifically, in black anodised Ergal.
Key Features
- Ducati Panigale V4 R (2019–2021)
- Throttle housing without switch block
- Profile cut for this model family
- CNC-machined from Ergal 7075
- Black anodised
- Machined throttle tube bore
A Part Number of Its Own
The R differs from the standard V4 in enough detail around the cockpit that JetPrime lists it separately. It is the version to use rather than the general V4 body.
Nine Hundred and Ninety-Eight Cubic Centimetres
Ducati shortened the Stradale's stroke to fall under the World Superbike capacity limit. The R makes 221 horsepower with the racing exhaust and revs to 16.500.
Titanium and a Dry Clutch
Titanium connecting rods, a lightened crankshaft and a dry clutch Ducati had abandoned everywhere else. The R is a homologation motorcycle that happens to be road registered.
Housing Only
The switch block is not part of this. On an R, where nearly everything else has been specified upward, the throttle housing is one of the last moulded components left.
Precision at Small Openings
The bore is machined rather than formed. On an engine calibrated this precisely, a tube with play in it feeds the ECU an angle that is slightly wrong every time.
Black Anodised
Converted into the aluminium. Against carbon panels and exposed titanium fastenings it is the finish that recedes properly.
Ergal 7075
Aerospace grade at roughly double the strength of ordinary machined alloy. On a motorcycle that will see circuits, that is chosen for the fall as much as the finish.
Wings That Do Work
The R's aerodynamic package was developed for the racing bike and produces measurable downforce well below top speed. With this much power, keeping the front loaded is not decoration.
Homologation, Properly
Everything unusual about the R exists for a competition reason rather than a marketing one. That is increasingly rare and it is why these motorcycles hold their value the way they do.
