Off-Axis Mounting
Staggered bolts for one of the two clamp types. Thirty seconds with the existing block off the bar settles which arrangement a particular motorcycle needs.
Oxidation, Not Wear
Switch mechanisms almost never wear out. The terminal underneath corrodes once water has sat against it and the symptom appears months later as something intermittent.
Sold Only Complete
Ducati lists the block, never the contact inside it. That is the arithmetic that makes a machined replacement reasonable rather than extravagant.
A Dimension That Does Not Drift
Machining holds tolerance for the life of a programme. Injection tools wear across theirs, which is invisible until a component no longer sits square.
Sun on a Naked Bike
Printed legends fade faster here than behind a fairing, because the block sits in direct light all day. A machined body carries no printing at all.
What the Hand Reads
On a bike with no bodywork the hands are pushed back by air pressure at speed. Machined geometry is what makes an input against that pressure definite rather than approximate.
A Wide Bar and 208 Horsepower
Ducati took a superbike, raised the handlebars and removed the fairing. Nothing about the result is sensible and that is precisely why it exists.
Downforce Without Bodywork
Two winglet elements per side, generating twenty-eight kilograms of load at 270 kilometres an hour. On a naked bike that is a real engineering answer to a real problem.
A Minimal Tail
Almost nothing behind the rider, which is part of why the Streetfighter weighs 178 kilograms dry despite the engine it carries.
An Airbox Where the Fairing Was
Removing the bodywork left the V4 without its usual route to fresh air, so Ducati fed it through openings either side of the steering head instead. It is one of several places where the Streetfighter turns out to be a genuine redesign rather than a Panigale with parts taken off.
