DescriptionThe whole story▼
For the 2015 R1M, the JP PS YA003 replaces the left-hand switch with a body machined from Ergal 7075 in three anodised finishes.
Key Features
- Yamaha R1M (2015–2019)
- Full street control set
- Black, blue or titanium anodising
- CNC-milled Ergal 7075
- Sealed switch elements
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
Carbon and Telemetry
The R1M added carbon fibre bodywork, Öhlins electronic racing suspension and a communication control unit that logged sessions and let settings be changed from a tablet. Yamaha built it in limited numbers and the allocation sold before production started.
A Motorcycle Sold to Be Ridden Hard
Very few R1Ms are kept as investments. They are bought by people with circuit access who use the telemetry, and that use pattern puts the cockpit through pit-lane operation in gloves followed by a pressure washer, session after session.
The One Ordinary Component
Against carbon bodywork and electronic suspension, the moulded switch housing is conspicuously the part that came from ordinary production. Replacing it does not make the motorcycle faster; it closes a visible gap in an otherwise deliberate specification.
Sealed Against the Wash Bay
The elements inside are sealed units and the body is milled from one block with no moulded seam. Water from a jet washer has nowhere to enter, which on a bike cleaned hot after every outing is what determines how long the controls stay accurate.
Three Finishes
Black, blue and titanium. Against the R1M's exposed carbon weave, titanium reads as a machined component while black disappears entirely into the cockpit.
The Pre-2020 Generation
This fitment stops at 2019. The later R1M changed its head, its intake and its wiring, and the parts are not interchangeable even though the motorcycles look closely related.
Fitted in an Evening
The grip and bar-end weight come off, the old assembly follows, and the new one goes on using Yamaha's connector. No wire is cut and no coding is required afterwards.
A Cockpit Worth Finishing
Against carbon bodywork, Öhlins ERS and a logging package, the moulded switch housing is the single component that came from ordinary production. Replacing it closes a visible gap rather than adding performance.
