DescriptionThe whole story▼
The left-hand street switch for the L7 GSX-R 1000: indicators, horn, beam and the display controls, in a machined Ergal body.
Key Features
- Suzuki GSX-R 1000 (2017–2021)
- Full street control set
- Black, blue, red or titanium anodising
- CNC-milled Ergal 7075
- Sealed switch elements
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
The Left Side Carries More
On the L7, indicators, horn, high beam and the navigation of the instrument display all sit on the left. Suzuki fitted a great deal of function into one housing without making it larger, which is efficient packaging and leaves the buttons closer together than is ideal in gloves.
A Motorcycle at the End of a Line
The L7 is the last GSX-R 1000 Suzuki built. Euro 5 ended it in 2021 and nothing replaced it, which has changed how owners treat these bikes: they are being kept and maintained rather than traded, and parts are bought with a longer horizon in mind.
Separation Where It Is Needed
Where controls sit close together, the physical step between them is what the thumb uses. A moulded assembly relies partly on printed symbols that the rider cannot see while moving. Machined relief works in any light, in any glove, in any weather.
Sealed Against a Wet Season
The elements inside are sealed units and the body is milled from one piece with no moulded joint. Water running down the clip-on in sustained rain has nowhere to go, which is what keeps the indicator switch feeling identical after five winters.
Four Colours
Black, blue, red and titanium, all anodised. Blue is the choice on a bike in Suzuki's MotoGP scheme, where it continues something already on the fairing rather than introducing a new colour to the cockpit.
A Generation Being Kept
Since Suzuki did not replace the L7, owners have stopped treating these as bikes to trade up from. Maintenance decisions are being made with a longer horizon, and components are being renewed rather than tolerated.
