Navigating an F3's Menus
Maps, eight traction levels, the quick shifter's configuration and the engine braking setting all live behind the display and are reached from this cluster. MV fitted a great deal of adjustability and then asked one small housing to provide access to all of it.
Changing Settings Between Sessions
On an Ago used at track days the menu is worked in the pit lane with gloves on and a clock running. That is a specific kind of demand: not force, but certainty, made repeatedly under mild time pressure with the engine idling.
Silver, Red and a Signature
The Ago's livery references the 1970s racing machines directly, and the tank carries Agostini's signature above a numbered plaque. Every visible component on the motorcycle is therefore being looked at more carefully than it would be on a standard F3.
The Part That Was Not Chosen
MV's designers specified the fairing, the tail, the wheels and the graphics for this edition. The switch housing came from the parts shelf unchanged, and against a numbered commemorative motorcycle that is the component which quietly lets the presentation down.
Nothing Cut, Nothing Coded
The replacement uses the motorcycle's own connector and refits in reverse at any point. On a bike whose value rests partly on being unaltered, the ability to undo a change completely is what makes making it defensible.
Three Anodised Finishes
Black, red and titanium. Red continues what the Ago livery already carries; titanium picks up the fork legs; black removes the component from the conversation entirely, which on this motorcycle is a legitimate goal.
Sealed Contacts
The switch elements are sealed units inside a housing with no joint anywhere. Rain running down a clip-on has nowhere to go, and neither does the water from a hose after a summer track day.
