DescriptionThe whole story▼
Aprilia changed the RS 660's handlebar controls for 2025, and this block is the machined replacement for the later arrangement.

- Complete street control set on the left
- CNC-machined from Ergal 7075

Why There Are Two Part Numbers
The 2025 revision altered the bracket and the internal layout of the left-hand assembly. Nothing about that is visible in a catalogue photograph, so the registration year is the only reliable way to choose between them.
What the Revision Brought
Weight out of the chassis, reshaped bodywork with aerodynamic surfaces worked into it, and a reorganised electronics package. Aprilia refined a motorcycle that was already the class reference rather than replacing it.
Ergal 7075, Specifically
A zinc-bearing aerospace alloy with roughly twice the yield strength of the 6000 series used in most machined accessories. It costs more to cut and it holds a thread and a mounting face for far longer.
Five Years and Still the Benchmark
Rivals have arrived with more power and lower prices and none of them has displaced the RS 660 from the top of the comparisons. Aprilia read the gap in the market more completely than anyone expected.
Cruise, Modes and the Display
All of it lives behind the left block, and all of it is used on the move. The number of operations these particular contacts see in a year is not comparable to anything on the right side of the bar.
Anodising Rather Than Printing
The colour is converted into the top layer of the metal, so nothing sits on the surface to chip and there is no legend to fade. A scuff dulls the finish instead of removing it.
How the Moulded Original Ends
The mechanism outlasts the terminal beneath it. Moisture travels the seam between the two halves, sits against a contact through a winter and corrodes it, and the fault appears the following spring as something intermittent.
A Quarter of an Hour
Bar end, grip, two fasteners and one plug. The loom terminates in Aprilia's own connector, so nothing is spliced and nothing has to be told that the block has changed.
Cylinder Dimensions From a Superbike
The 659 cc twin uses the RSV4's bore and stroke, which is why it revs to 10.500 rpm and why it sounds nothing like the long-stroke twins filling the rest of the category. It is the least advertised and most consequential piece of engineering in the whole motorcycle.
