DescriptionThe whole story▼
The offset-hole version of the four-button right clamp. The JP BR 020R B fits master cylinders whose two clamp bolts are staggered rather than level.
Key Features
- Rear clamp for a right four-button JetPrime handlebar switch
- For misaligned, offset master cylinder clamp holes
- CNC-machined aluminium
- Matched to the JetPrime housing
- Sold as a separate component
Offset Rather Than Level
Master cylinder makers stagger the two clamp bolts when a symmetrical layout would run through an internal passage or a reservoir mount. The clamp that carries the switch has to be drilled the same way, which is why this version exists alongside the aligned one at the same price.
Matching the Switch
Buy the clamp to match both the switch's button count and the master cylinder's hole pattern. A four-button switch on a staggered cylinder needs this part; the aligned version will not bolt up, and no adapter bridges the two.
Why It Is Sold Alone
Clamps break in falls more often than switches do, and some JetPrime switches ship without one. Listing the clamp separately means a damaged mounting does not require a whole new assembly.
Two Patterns, One Price
JetPrime charge the same for the aligned and offset clamps, which means there is nothing to weigh up beyond which fits. They are machined identically apart from the bolt spacing, and neither is a compromise made to accommodate the other. The only requirement is to look at the master cylinder first.
How to Read a Master Cylinder
Sit on the bike with the bars straight and look down at the clamp holding the front brake master cylinder. Two bolts. Draw an imaginary line between the heads: square across the bar means aligned, angled because one sits further forward means offset. It takes less time than reading this paragraph.
The Part That Takes the Impact
When a motorcycle goes down on its right side, the load runs through the bar-end, into the switch assembly and out through the clamp. The switch usually survives; the clamp is the component that bends. Replacing one costs a fraction of replacing the assembly, which is the whole reason it is sold on its own.
