Compulsory Equipment
A machine sold without lights still has to carry a rain light to pass scrutineering in a wet session. It is one of the few pieces of lighting a track-only motorcycle is required to have, and the requirement is enforced.
Yamaha Left It Out
The RACE arrives with no lighting of any kind, which is consistent with its purpose and leaves the owner to fit what the regulations demand. The rain light is the item most often needed and the one most often forgotten until the first wet round.
Control on the Left Cluster
Building the switch into the race housing means no additional hardware on a handlebar that already carries a lap timer and, on some machines, a data display. Space in that area is genuinely contested.
Ordered With the Cluster
The kit is designed around JetPrime's race switch for this bike and shares its part number base. Buying one without the other produces a control with nothing on the end of it.
Operated at the Worst Moment
Grid, rain, soaked gloves, marshals waving. A machined perimeter around the button is what makes the press certain when the rider can feel very little through wet leather.
Sealed Throughout
Sealed elements inside a housing milled from one block. On a component whose entire purpose is wet-weather use, the absence of a moulded joint is not a refinement but the basic requirement.
Black Anodised
A single finish, converted into the surface. It dulls with age and with contact rather than flaking away to bright aluminium.
