The Generation That Fills Grids
More club-level litre bikes are built from this GSX-R than from any other single model. The reasons are unglamorous and decisive: they are cheap to buy, mechanically durable, and every part on them is available second hand from someone who crashed one last season.
What a Race Cluster Removes
Indicators and horn, and the positions they occupied. That is the point: the thumb searches by position rather than by symbol, and a control that does nothing useful is a control the thumb has to learn to skip. Removing it widens the gaps between what remains.
Works With the Standard Loom
No racing harness, no aftermarket dashboard, no configuration. The switch uses the motorcycle's own connector and the factory ECU, which means it can be fitted by the rider between meetings rather than as part of a larger electrical project.
Fifteen-Year-Old Switchgear
The bikes that take this part are old enough that their original clusters have hardened, faded and in many cases been through a crash or two. Replacing rather than repairing is the sensible route, since the individual contacts are not separately available.
One Finish
Black anodised. On a machine wearing race bodywork and a number board there is little argument for anything else, and the through-colour anodising means a slide scuffs the surface rather than stripping it.

An eight-year production run with few changes means everything for this motorcycle exists, second hand and new. That is why club racers keep choosing it, and it is why aftermarket switchgear for a fifteen-year-old superbike is still being made at all.
Sealed Construction
The elements inside are sealed units and the housing has no moulded joint. On a bike washed hot after every session and stored damp, ingress rather than mechanical wear is what finishes switchgear.
