The Affordable Modern Fireblade
The SC77 sits in a useful place: new enough to have a full electronics package, old enough that a crashed one does not end a season. That combination is why a growing number of them are being converted for circuit use rather than kept as road bikes.
What a Race Cluster Removes
Indicators and horn, and more importantly the positions they occupied. A rider at pace finds a control by counting down the stack rather than reading it, and a button that does nothing useful is one the thumb has to learn to skip. Removing it widens the gaps between the rest.
No Racing Loom Needed
Unlike the superbike switches built around aftermarket dashboards, this one works with Honda's own wiring and the standard ECU. The traction control and power modes continue to function, and the conversion is an unplug-and-plug job rather than an electrical project.
Built to Be Dropped
A moulded housing cracks at the clamp when a bike slides; a body milled from Ergal 7075 scuffs and carries on. Over a season of track days that difference is measured in how many times the motorcycle is off the grid rather than in the price of one part.
Three Finishes
Black, blue and titanium on this part number. Black is what most race-prepared bikes get, on the reasoning that nothing in the cockpit should catch the eye at the wrong moment.
A Three-Year Window
The SC77 ran from 2017 to 2019 only. The SC59 before it and the RR-R after it both use different connectors, and the name Fireblade covers thirty years of quite different motorcycles, so the model year is the check that matters.
Sealed Contacts
The elements are sealed units and the housing is milled from one piece. On a bike that spends its weekends being washed hot and transported damp, that construction decides how long the controls stay accurate.
