DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fitted to the Speed Triple 1200 RS, the JP ACCGP TR039 reduces the electronic throttle's rotation to 60 degrees, down from the standard grip's noticeably wider travel. The bike's ride-by-wire mapping and sensor signal are unaffected; only the mechanical distance the hand travels to reach full throttle is shortened.
Key Features
- Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS (2021–2026)
- GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
Wide Bars, Quick Hands
The RS's wide, flat bar rewards quick inputs through a series of corners, and the standard throttle's longer rotation can feel like it is working against that quickness. Less rotation to reach full throttle keeps the hand's movement matched to how fast the rest of the bike wants to change direction.
A Spring With More to Say
The progressive return spring behind this shorter throw resists more as the throttle opens further, rather than offering the same light pull throughout its travel. Small adjustments near idle stay easy to make, while committing to full throttle still meets enough resistance to avoid feeling like a switch.
After a Long Ride
On a longer run through twisting roads, a throttle hand that has to rotate further for the same input works harder over the course of the day, even if no single movement feels like much on its own. Reducing that rotation lowers the cumulative effort behind each throttle input across a long ride.
The Triple at Its Sharpest
Triumph tunes the 1200 triple in the RS for a quick, linear response, and a shorter throttle throw supports that by cutting the delay between wrist movement and the engine answering it. The character of the engine does not change; how soon it is called upon does.
Letting the Bike Catch Up
Once the new unit is installed, a throttle position relearn through the bike's diagnostic port is the standard next step, aligning the ECU's reference values with the new mechanism. Most workshops familiar with Triumph's diagnostic tools can complete this quickly.
A Reversible Change
Because the factory throttle body is left intact during the swap, the original grip can go back on later without any permanent modification to the bike. The change is additive rather than destructive. A later owner, or a dealer handling warranty work, can return to stock without complication.
