DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fitted to the Monster 1200, the JP ACCGP DU020 keeps the GP Series' 60-degree stroke and reversible, plug and play installation, while a cable-feel return and an unobtrusive sensor let the naked's familiar V-twin pull come through the right hand without the bike needing any permanent modification.
Key Features
- Ducati Monster 1200 (2017–2021)
- GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
A Naked That Doesn't Hide
The Monster 1200 has always put its engine and its character on display rather than tucking either behind fairing, and the riding position puts the rider close to that feeling, upright and in direct contact with what the throttle is doing. A quick-reacting throttle suits a bike that has never tried to filter the experience for its rider.
Torque Without Drama
The Testastretta V-twin in the 1200 delivers a wide spread of torque from low in the revs, which is part of why the model works equally well threading through traffic and opening up on a back road. A shorter throttle stroke makes that spread easier to use deliberately rather than accidentally, especially when rolling on from low speed.
Built Around the Cable, Not Instead of It
The GP Series keeps the mechanical cable-pull feel of a conventional throttle rather than replacing it with something electronic that has to be learned from scratch. Riders used to the standard Monster grip notice the shorter rotation immediately, but the sense of a direct, physical connection to the engine stays the same.
A Sensor That Stays Out of the Way
The position sensor built into the GP Series housing reports to the bike's existing electronics the same way the factory sensor does, so ride modes, traction control and the dashboard all continue to work exactly as before. There is nothing for the rider to configure beyond the diagnostic reset recommended after fitting.
One Afternoon, No Permanent Change
Because the GP Series is a plug and play part designed for exactly this model, fitting it does not involve cutting, rewiring or modifying the Monster's existing cable run. A rider who decides later to go back to the original grip, for sale or any other reason, can refit it just as easily.
Reset and Ready
A short diagnostic procedure to relearn the throttle position is the usual last step after fitting, letting the bike's control unit recognise the new sensor's range from scratch. It takes only a few minutes and is the same process a dealer workshop would use after any throttle body service.
