A Supermoto Shape on the Road
The Dorsoduro wears a tall, upright supermoto silhouette with wide bars and an open riding position, a layout built for flicking between lines rather than holding a tucked tuck through long corners, which puts throttle inputs closer to the rider's natural eye line and attention.
Chasing an Older Feel
Riders who learned on cable-throttle bikes sometimes describe modern ride-by-wire systems as feeling disconnected from the hand, even when the response itself is accurate. A progressive mechanical spring reintroduces some of that resistance curve a cable and its own spring used to provide.
The V-Twin Underneath
Aprilia's 900cc V-twin in the Dorsoduro delivers torque in a broad, usable spread rather than a sharp top-end rush, and throttle inputs that build progressively rather than snap open suit that kind of delivery more naturally than a flat-rate spring would.
Sixty Degrees at a Wide Bar
With wide supermoto-style bars, the wrist already sits at a different angle to the grip than it would on a sportbike, and shortening the rotation to sixty degrees reduces how far that wrist has to roll regardless of the bar's width or sweep.
Three Stages, Set From Outside
The spring's preload adjusts externally across three positions, letting the rider soften the return for low-speed, technical riding or firm it up for faster, open-road stretches, all without removing the throttle housing from the bike.
Nothing Changed Beneath the Cover
The electronic side of the throttle, including its sensor and the engine's own mapping, is left exactly as Aprilia set it; only the mechanical cam that shapes the hand's input is replaced, with a diagnostic reset completing the fitting.
