DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fitting a quick-action throttle to a Trident 660 displaces the right-hand controls. The JP PDQ TR001 carries them on a bar clamp of their own, in titanium.
Key Features
- Triumph Trident 660 (2021–2025)
- For quick-action throttle installations
- Titanium anodised Ergal 7075
- CNC-machined from solid
- Military-specification switch elements
- Pre-wired for the original connector
Why a Roadster Gets a Quick Throttle
The Trident's standard throttle action is long, which suits a bike aimed partly at newer riders and frustrates the ones who have moved past that. Shortening the travel sharpens the motorcycle's responses considerably without touching the engine, and it is among the cheapest changes with a real effect.
The Switch Has to Move
The standard cluster is built around the throttle tube and cannot survive its replacement. The starter and engine stop controls then need a home, and improvising one is a poor idea on a motorcycle that has to stay road legal and insurable.
An Independent Mounting
This unit clamps to the handlebar rather than to the throttle, so the throttle can be changed again later without disturbing anything electrical. The switch position and angle are set by the rider instead of by where the tube happens to finish.
Nothing Cut
The unit arrives pre-wired with Triumph's own connector. No wire is spliced, the ECU sees exactly what it expects and no fault code appears, so the conversion reverses by swapping two parts before a sale.
Contacts Rated Above Road Use
The switch elements are military-specification sealed units rather than automotive ones. On a naked bike whose controls have no protection from weather at all, sealing is the property that decides how the assembly feels in its fourth year.
Titanium Only
JetPrime builds this unit in a single finish. Against the Trident's dark cockpit it reads as a deliberate machined component, which is generally what an owner fitting one is after.
