DescriptionThe whole story▼
When a Yamaha YZF-R1 or R1M is being developed seriously on track, the stock cockpit simply cannot keep pace with the data you need. The I2M Chrome Pro 2 is the flagship of the Chrome series — an engineering-grade racing dashboard machined and assembled to a standard that matches the ambition of RN32, RN49 and RN65 riders who treat every session as an opportunity to go faster, not just feel faster.
Key Features
- 5-inch full-colour graphics display at 800 x 480 resolution — large, sharp and readable at race pace
- 10 Hz GPS module for precise trajectory mapping and speed measurement
- 128 additional CAN-Bus acquisition channels running at up to 500 Hz per channel — professional-grade data density
- Integrated TPMS receiver monitors tyre pressure and wheel rim temperature in real time, with two TPMS sensors included in the box
- Integrated lambda controller with Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband sensor included — fuelling analysis without bolting on extra hardware
- 11 freely configurable high-brightness RGB shift/alarm LEDs for instant visual cues at any ambient light level
- 16 GB internal storage with 20 pre-loaded circuits and capacity for up to 500 laps per circuit
A Dashboard Built to a Different Standard
What sets the Chrome Pro 2 apart from every lesser dashboard is the deliberate completeness of its hardware specification. WiFi and Bluetooth BLE connectivity are integrated directly into the unit, enabling wireless data transfer to a laptop or mobile device without pulling cables in the paddock. The CAN-Bus architecture — 128 channels at up to 500 Hz — means the system captures engine, chassis and rider inputs at a resolution that amateur data loggers cannot approach. Everything is housed in a single, compact unit that replaces the original R1 cockpit without requiring a rack of auxiliary modules.
Chrome Pro 2 versus Chrome Lite and Chrome Plus2
Riders moving up from the Chrome Lite will notice an immediate step in analytical depth. The Pro 2 adds substantially more CAN-Bus acquisition channels, higher sampling rates, WiFi, Bluetooth BLE, the integrated TPMS receiver, the integrated lambda controller, and the full 16 GB storage — all of which the Lite does not carry.
Compared with the Chrome Plus2, the Pro 2 adds:
- Integrated TPMS receiver for tyre pressure and wheel rim temperature monitoring
- Two TPMS sensors supplied in the box, ready to fit
- Bosch LSU 4.9 lambda sensor supplied in the box
- A specification oriented specifically towards professional telemetry and comprehensive track analysis
These distinctions come directly from I2M's official product documentation. The Pro 2 is, without qualification, the most complete instrument in the Chrome range.
Session Analysis: Lap Times, Sectors and Ideal Lap
The Chrome Pro 2 stores up to 500 laps per circuit across 20 pre-loaded tracks, with automatic circuit recognition activating the moment you enter a venue. Each track is divided into four sectors, giving you split times at every key point on the layout. Best Lap, Ideal Lap and session comparison tools allow a rider and engineer to identify exactly where time is being found or lost — not by feel, but by data. Video input extends the system further, allowing camera footage to be synchronised with telemetry channels for a complete picture of every lap.
Fitment and Compatibility
The I2M Chrome Pro 2 is supplied with a dedicated R1 (2015–2026) adapter harness, making installation a clean, plug-and-play process across all three R1 generations covered. Fitment is confirmed for:
- Yamaha YZF-R1 RN32 (2015–2019)
- Yamaha YZF-R1M RN32 (2015–2019)
- Yamaha YZF-R1 RN49 (2020–2023)
- Yamaha YZF-R1M RN49 (2020–2023)
- Yamaha YZF-R1 RN65 (2024–2026)
- Yamaha YZF-R1M RN65 (2024–2026)
An optional mounting kit is available to pair with the dashboard; see the variant selector above.
Who is the Chrome Pro 2 For?
This dashboard is the right choice if you want to extract the maximum from a Yamaha YZF-R1 or R1M on track, require a professional-level GPS lap timer and data logger integrated with TPMS and lambda analysis, and need hardware that is robust and complete enough to support a serious development programme — whether you ride trackdays, club racing or at a higher competitive level. If the original R1 cockpit feels like a limitation rather than a tool, the Chrome Pro 2 removes that limitation entirely.
