DescriptionThe whole story▼
Riders who spend their weekends on a circuit learn the reversed shift pattern, and then find the road bike disconcerting on Monday morning. This kit converts the CB750 Hornet to the same pattern, using the bike's own mounting points and a machined linkage rather than a bent version of the standard rod.
Key Features
- Converts the gearshift to the reversed pattern
- Machined aluminium linkage
- Uses the bike's own mounting points
- For riders who come from the track
- Approval in preparation at Gilles, ask us
Nothing inside the engine
The change happens entirely at the linkage: the rod is re-routed above the shift shaft lever, which reverses the direction of travel. The gearbox itself is never opened and nothing inside it is altered.
Get used to it first
One down and five up feels wrong for the first few kilometres, and the wrong shift at the wrong moment is worse than no upgrade at all. Practise somewhere quiet before the first junction in traffic.
Reversible
The kit uses the existing threads, so the bike can be put back to the standard pattern before it is sold on.
Road Approval
The approval for the Honda CB750 HORNET is still being prepared at Gilles. Until it is published we cannot promise that no inspection is needed; we are happy to check the current position for you.
Scope of Delivery
What arrives is 1x reverse shift linkage and 1x mounting kit.
Fitting
The linkage rod is re-routed above the shift shaft lever, which reverses the direction of the shift without touching the gearbox.
