DescriptionThe whole story▼
A boxer puts two cylinder heads out into the airstream ahead of the rider's knees, which is the one thing every flat twin does that no other engine layout does. The air that reaches the handlebar on a nineT Pure has already been round them.
Key Features
- Shaped mirror head, not a moulding
- Supplied per side — fit a pair or replace one
- Clamp holds its setting under airflow
- Glass positioned to clear the rider's shoulder
- Stem deforms under impact rather than shearing
- European type approval E1*81R00/02*0143
Two Cylinders in the Airstream
What arrives at the bar ends is not the smooth column of air a faired bike delivers. A mount being worked at unevenly loosens sooner than one under steady pressure, which is why the clamp matters more here than the shape of the housing does.
The Plainest nineT
BMW built the Pure without the brushed tank and the hand-finished trim, which means a smaller number of parts carry the whole look. Machined aluminium, shaped head, matt black, sitting in the same register as the rest of it.
One at a Time
The sides have their own part numbers. Buy a pair, or buy the one that met the garage door frame.
Road Approval
The applicable approval is E1*81R00/02*0143, granted under UN Regulation 81. It is a European type approval rather than a German ABE, and it is recognised across the EU without additional registration.
Scope of Delivery
Supplied as a single mirror for the side you choose. Fitting a pair means ordering both variants; replacing one after a knock means ordering only that side.
