DescriptionThe whole story▼
The CB1000 Hornet of 2025 brings a Fireblade-derived four into an affordable naked bike. Its riders tend to use the power, and the gearbox with it. The Gilles Shiftholder for the Honda CB1000 Hornet supports the shift shaft outside the engine for a precise gear change.
Key Features
- Brass bushing for the shaft
- Hard-anodised in titanium colour
- Individual parts available as spares
- Supports the shift shaft where it leaves the engine
- Prevents the shaft from flexing under hard shifts
- No registration required in Germany
A superbike engine in daily use
A four-cylinder with superbike roots is shifted briskly, and hard shifts load the shaft where it leaves the engine. The Shiftholder adds a support there, so the shaft stays straight and the gear engages fully.
From day one
Because the Shiftholder bolts on outside the engine and does not affect the approval of the bike, it can be fitted to a new CB1000 Hornet straight away. The gear change then feels firm from the first kilometres rather than only after the owner starts looking for improvements.
Road Approval
No registration is needed. The Shiftholder does not change the position of any control or any other approved characteristic of the Honda CB1000 HORNET; it only supports the shift shaft where it leaves the engine. Nothing has to be entered in the vehicle documents, and no inspection is required.
Scope of Delivery
Supplied as the Shiftholder kit, ready to fit, with the fitting instructions.
