DescriptionThe whole story▼
The 1260 is the touring end of the Multistrada line, smoother at low revs and usually ridden a long way. Over a long day the small things become large ones, and a lever set two millimetres too far away is one of them. The MPL fixes it without tools at the next fuel stop.
Key Features
- Span adjustment: five positions, set by a precise and smooth adjuster
- Coloured inserts at the lever end can be exchanged
- An optional remote adjuster can be retrofitted to change the span while riding
- CNC-machined from high-strength aluminium, anodised
- Folding lever, swings clear instead of breaking in a fall
- Approved under ABE No. KBA 91507 (Gilles)
From 2018 to 2021
Gilles lists the Multistrada 1260, the S, the Pikes Peak and the D-Air for this lever.
Bearing pivot
Two ball bearings instead of a bushing keep the lever free of play, which is what makes a light, consistent pull possible.
Road Approval
The Ducati MULTISTRADA 1260 (see the fitment list) appears in Gilles' fitment list for this number, which the manufacturer marks as approved under ABE No. KBA 91507. Keep the supplied certificate with the vehicle papers. The document itself is not published, so we make no statement about its conditions; we are happy to ask Gilles for you. Gilles notes that the TÜV entry for this number is currently being updated.
Scope of Delivery
Supplied as a single MPL brake lever in black. Gilles offers the clutch lever under its own number.
Fitting
Use the original fasteners and do not overtighten the pivot; the ball bearings need to turn freely. Set the span with the adjuster, check the function at a standstill, then confirm it again after the first few kilometres.
