Park a loaded V-Strom 1000 on a slope, nose down, and it can roll forward off its side stand and settle onto the bar end. Riders who travel with full luggage learn to look for level ground, usually after it has happened once. The Gilles IP weights replace the end that took the hit.

On tour
For the V-Strom 1000, Gilles names type DD (2014 to 2016) and WDD0 (2017 to 2022), including the XT. The short anodised cylinder comes in black, gold or red and fits with the expander kit in the box.
Road Approval
Gilles lists these bar end weights as not requiring registration on the Suzuki DL1000 V-STROM: no inspection and no entry in the vehicle documents. What they do need is a firm seat in the bar, so check them again after the first ride.
Scope of Delivery
One pair of Gilles IP bar end weights (LG-IP-22) in the colour you select, with the mounting kit for bars of 12 to 22 mm inner diameter.
Fitting
Remove the original bar end weights, clean the inside of the bar and fit the expander from the Gilles kit that matches its inner diameter. Tighten until the weight sits firmly, then check that the throttle still turns freely and snaps back.
