DescriptionThe whole story▼
The M1000RR is a superbike first, and on the road its low bars ask a lot of the wrists. The GP-Light 2 Street clip-on handlebars for the BMW M1000RR from 2020 raise the grips by 23 mm and bring 19 mm more length per side, for a more relaxed position on the road.
Key Features
- Grips 23 mm higher than standard for a more relaxed position
- Tubes 19 mm longer per side than the original
- 6-degree drop instead of the original 7.5 degrees
- Tube clamped separately; quick change via the external screw connection
- Replacement tube available as spare part LR-10
- TTG 101316 or TÜV 34TG0277; 2025 on: TTG 101316 only
More relaxed, still sporty
The Street version keeps the 55 mm clamp and a 6-degree drop, but lifts the grips by 23 mm compared with the original. That takes weight off the wrists on longer rides without turning the M into a tourer.
Replaceable tube
Like all GP-Light 2 clip-ons, the tube is clamped separately and changes quickly via the external screw connection. The replacement tube is available as part LR-10, and the TÜV certificate is included.
Road Approval
For the M1000RR, both Gilles approvals list the type SM99 (2020 to 2024); the marking on the clamps decides which applies. KBA 101316 on the clamps means the KBA part type approval: no inspection, carry the approval. Without that mark, TÜV parts certificate 34TG0277 applies: acceptance inspection straight after fitting, documents corrected later. The 2025 type SR99 appears only in the part type approval, so on a 2025 or later bike the clamps must carry the mark KBA 101316. Conditions in both documents: cables, Bowden cables and brake lines long enough and protected against kinking and chafing, master cylinder and reservoir in their working position, brake hoses with at least 80 mm bend radius and not twisted, free steering including lock and steering stop, and a check of the front brake.
Scope of Delivery
A left and a right clip-on with their tubes, the fitting instructions and the TÜV parts certificate, as Gilles states. Grips, bar-end weights and controls are reused from the motorcycle.
