DescriptionThe whole story▼
The S1000RR of 2015 and 2016 was the second generation of BMW's superbike, lighter and more powerful than the first, and it is still a common sight at track days. This FXR rearset for the BMW S1000RR of those years has a two-piece base plate that allows six positions for the rigid racing pegs.
Key Features
- Standard or reversed (race) shift pattern
- 6 defined peg positions
- Brake and shift levers on double ball bearings, free of play
- Carbon fibre heel protection
- Rigid racing pegs
- TÜV parts certificate 144XT0020, acceptance inspection required
Six positions from a two-piece plate
The split base plate is what allows six positions rather than three. That gives a wider choice for different leg lengths and riding styles, from a moderate track position to a very high, rearward setting for maximum clearance.
Race pattern and carbon heel protectors
Reverse shifting is possible, and carbon heel protectors are supplied for both sides. The brake and shift levers run on double ball bearings and have no play.
Road Approval
Road use on the BMW S1000RR runs through TÜV parts certificate (Teilegutachten) No. 144XT0020, which is different from an ABE: after fitting, the bike has to go straight to TÜV, DEKRA, GTÜ or KÜS for an acceptance inspection, otherwise the operating licence lapses. Take the certificate and the fitting instructions along. For motorcycles approved under Regulation (EU) 168/2013 that left the factory with folding pegs, the certificate allows only folding footpegs; Gilles supplies these as a separate kit.
Scope of Delivery
Left and right units are supplied complete with adapter plates, peg carriers with footpegs, brake pedal, shift lever with linkage and carbon fibre heel protection. The box also contains the fitting instructions and the TÜV parts certificate.
