DescriptionThe whole story▼
This is the lever for the second-generation S1000RR — the ShiftCam bike from 2019 onward, not the K10 that came before it. The two use different master cylinders, and fitting the wrong reference is the most common mistake people make when ordering a lever for this model.
Key Features
- Reach adjustable through 35 positions, set by hand
- Central adjuster wheel, reachable from the riding position
- Folding blade that swings clear instead of snapping off
- Engineered break point inside the two-finger zone
- Phosphated pivot seat, free of play from new
- Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91203
How It Is Made
Cut from billet, anodised black, and phosphated at the pivot. The milled Gilles face on the upper surface is there for grip as much as for looks: a gloved fingertip finds it without the rider looking down. Out of the box the blade moves without play, which is the part most riders judge a lever by in the first ten seconds.
Setting the Reach
The adjuster is a knurled wheel in the lever body, turned by hand. Thirty-five detents sound like more than anyone needs until you try to split the difference between two settings on a lever that offers four. The steps are shallow enough to move one at a time rather than overshooting, and the setting holds without tools or thread lock.
Which S1000RR This Fits
The 2019 model brought a new engine and a revised front end, and the lever that fits it is not the one that fits 2009 to 2018. If your bike is the earlier K10 or 2R10, the FXL range covers it under a different article number — check the year in the fitment line before ordering.
Road Approval
Approved for German public roads under ABE No. KBA 91203. No entry in the vehicle documents is required, but the printed certificate belongs with them. The break point inside the two-finger area is a condition of that approval.
Scope of Delivery
A single black brake lever for the 2019-onward S1000RR. The original pivot bolt and nut are reused, so nothing is discarded and the standard lever can be refitted at any time.
