The wedge that fills the opening in the swingarm. Ducati leaves a cast recess there for manufacturing reasons, and the insert closes it with a shaped carbon panel that follows the arm's own line.

Cosmetic, and Honest About It
This part does not stiffen the swingarm, protect it, or change how the motorcycle behaves. It closes a hole that looks unfinished, on a component that is otherwise one of the best-looking pieces on the bike. Anyone expecting anything beyond that should not buy it.
It does sit in the spray path from the rear tyre, so it is worth checking after a wet ride that nothing has worked its way behind it. The fixings are small and the part is light enough that a loose one is easy to miss.
Fitting is a few minutes with the bike on a rear stand. The insert follows the cast recess closely enough that it only goes in one way, which makes it hard to fit wrongly.
