DescriptionThe whole story▼
The 2021 S1000R carries a small deflector above the headlight rather than a screen, and this replaces it with a carbon one of sporting shape. It is the part that sets the height of the motorcycle's silhouette at the front, and on a roadster that is more of a styling decision than an aerodynamic one.
Key Features
- Sport windscreen, direct replacement for the original deflector
- Available in 200 Plain and in 245 Twill, including twill satin and raw
- Autoclave-cured laminate, rigid at speed where a thin screen flutters
- Original mounting points and fasteners
- The widest choice of finishes of any article in this batch
Opaque, and Why That Matters Here
Carbon is not transparent, so this is a deflector rather than a screen you look through. On the S1000R the original is a small dark item that the rider looks over, so the sightline is unchanged — but it is worth being explicit, because a buyer expecting a tinted screen will be surprised.
What it offers is a modest lift of the airflow off the chest at motorway speed. On a naked motorcycle that is a real but small effect, and anybody promising weather protection behind a roadster is overstating it.
Fitment and Compatibility
BMW S1000R, model years 2021 to 2026, on the original screen mounting points. The 2013-2020 machines use a different front end and take different parts.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Screens and deflectors are recorded in the vehicle documents in some markets, so confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
Five Configurations, and How to Choose
This article offers more combinations than anything else here: plain weave in clear coat, and twill in clear coat, matt, satin and raw. That is a lot of choice for one small part, and the useful way through it is to decide the weave first and the lacquer second.
Plain suits a build whose other carbon is plain. Twill matches the rest of the Fullsix BMW range. On lacquer, this part faces forward into insects, rain and stones, which argues against clear coat unless the motorcycle is cleaned regularly. Twill satin is the quiet compromise and raw the durable one.
