This panel sits between the exhaust and the underside of the seat. It is invisible once the bike is assembled, and it is there because a twin routed under the tail puts a lot of heat where a rider sits.

A Carbon Part You Cannot See
Every other carbon part on this bike is bought partly for how it looks. This one is bolted out of sight and stays there, which means the finish is irrelevant and the laminate quality is everything.
It is also the one part where the price is hardest to justify on appearance alone. The case for it is that cured laminate holds its shape at the temperatures found under a tail, and a warped shield touches the exhaust.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Monster 1200, model years 2014 to 2016, on the original mounts. Check clearance to the silencer if an aftermarket exhaust is fitted; this is the part most affected by a change there.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. It replaces a factory heat shield — confirm the position for your own registration before road use, particularly with a non-standard exhaust.
Do Not Ride Without One
If the original shield has been removed and not replaced, the heat goes into the seat base and the wiring loom that runs alongside it. Seat foam takes it; wiring insulation over years does not.
That is the real reason this part is in the catalogue. It is not a styling item and it is not optional, whatever the invisible location suggests.
