What It Does to the Line
The 2014 Monster has a short, upswept tail, and the pillion pad is the one soft matt element sitting on top of it. Take that out and the rear resolves into a single continuous shape. It is the change that makes the bike look like the press photographs.
It is also reversible in under a minute, which puts it in a different category from the bonded frame covers in this range.
Where It Lives When It Is Off
A part that spends half its life in a cupboard collects its damage there. Face-down on concrete, clear coat picks up marks no polish removes. A soft bag and a shelf are worth the trouble.

Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Covering the pillion seat does not change what the bike is registered for, but a permanently fitted cover on a two-seat registration is worth a thought before an inspection.
