The Last Heavy Thing Up High
On a motorcycle that already carries carbon wheels, carbon winglets and a titanium exhaust, the fuel tank is what remains. It sits above the engine, ahead of the rider, and full of petrol it is the heaviest single item in the upper half of the machine. Removing part of that mass is the one remaining change that alters how quickly the bike agrees to change direction.
It is also the change nobody makes casually. The price is what it is, and the work is not a garage afternoon.
Fitment and Compatibility
BMW M1000RR, model years 2023 through 2026, on the standard frame mounts, with the original pump assembly transferred across. Fullsix lists the same tank for the S1000RR from 2019 onward and for the 2021-onward S1000R. Confirm your pump and sender part numbers before ordering.
Road Approval
A fuel tank is not bodywork. Fullsix publishes no ABE and no EC type-approval number for this article, and replacing a fuel-carrying component can affect registration and insurance depending on the country. Racing use is governed by the regulations of the series, which may specify tank construction directly. Settle both questions before ordering.
Fitting and Aftercare
Depressurise the fuel system, transfer the pump assembly with a fresh seal, and reproduce the vent routing exactly. Afterwards, wipe fuel spills instead of letting them dry on the surface, and put a cloth under anything strapped across the tank. Those two habits are the difference between a tank that still looks new after three years and one that does not.
