DescriptionThe whole story▼
This is the left-hand frame cover, supplied as a single panel rather than a pair. That matters when ordering: on the XDiavel the two sides are not mirror images of each other, because the left side has to work around the belt drive and the right does not. Fullsix therefore sells them separately, and this order code is the left one.
Key Features
- Left-hand panel only — the right side is a different part with its own order code
- Six configurations across both weaves, from clear coat to untreated raw carbon
- Protects the frame finish from boot contact, which on a forward-control motorcycle lands in a specific and repeatable place
- Uses the original fixings, nothing drilled or glued to the frame
- Autoclave-cured laminate that can be unbolted and replaced when it is worn
Forward Controls Move the Wear Point
On a sportbike the rider's boot sits behind and above the frame spar, and contact is occasional. The XDiavel puts the feet forward, which changes both where the heel lands and how often. The result is a predictable scuff pattern on the left frame side that shows up within a season on an otherwise unmarked motorcycle.
A cover is the cheap answer, and carbon is the right material for it: harder than the frame paint it protects, replaceable when it eventually wears through, and visually consistent with everything else in this range. If the motorcycle is ridden two-up regularly, the case is stronger still — a passenger's boot lands in roughly the same place.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati XDiavel and XDiavel S, 2016 to 2024, left side only, on the original mounting points. Inspect the frame for existing chips before fitting; a cover over a chip does not stop corrosion that has already started.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval for this cover. It is a bolt-on protective panel with no structural function; confirm the position for your registration before road use.
Ordering the Right Side
Because this panel is sold singly, it is worth being explicit: the order code ending in C80L is the left-hand cover, the side the belt drive runs down. If you want both sides, the right-hand panel is a separate purchase with its own code, and it is a different shape rather than a mirror image.
Most owners fit the left one alone, because on a belt-drive motorcycle the left side is where boots, paddock stands and kerb contact concentrate. If the XDiavel is regularly ridden two-up, fitting both is the better decision.
