DescriptionThe whole story▼
The exhaust guard sits over the silencer on the right-hand side, between the hot can and everything that comes near it: a boot, a pillion's ankle, a pannier.
Key Features
- Heat guard for the original silencer
- 200 Plain weave, clear coat, matt, satin or raw
- Autoclave-cured, around 331 grams
- Original standoff brackets and clamp positions
- Fits the Multistrada 1200 and the 1260
Heat Is Why the Standoff Matters
A guard works by holding an air gap between itself and the can. The brackets are not spacers for convenience; they are the reason the outer surface stays touchable while the silencer behind it does not.
That is also why this part reuses the original standoffs rather than sitting closer for a tighter look. Cured carbon is stable at the temperatures a guard sees at its correct distance, and progressively less happy the closer it gets.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Multistrada 1200, model years 2015 to 2017, with the original silencer. Aftermarket exhaust systems carry their own guards and their own geometry.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. It is a guard over an unchanged exhaust and does not affect noise or emissions, but there is no approval document to cite.
Fitting
Cold engine, always. Fit the brackets loose, check the gap is even along the whole length, then tighten.
An uneven gap means one end of the guard runs hotter than the laminate was intended to see, and it will show as discolouration in the clear coat long before anything else goes wrong.
