DescriptionThe whole story▼
The V4 Granturismo does not hide its cylinders. The engine is a structural element of the Diavel V4's appearance, and the covers over the heads are among the largest pieces of visible engine on the motorcycle. This set replaces them in carbon as a matched group rather than singly.
Key Features
- Multi-piece cylinder cover set supplied together under one order code
- Four configurations in 200 Plain: clear coat, matt, satin and raw
- Autoclave-cured with low void content, which is what keeps a hot-cycled part stable
- All pieces from the same production run, so they match across the engine
- Uses the original mounting points and fastener pattern
Heat Cycling Is the Real Test
Engine covers are the carbon parts that live closest to sustained heat, and they are where cure quality shows up soonest. A laminate with voids takes on moisture, and moisture trapped in a part that goes from cold to engine temperature and back a few hundred times does exactly what physics suggests. An autoclave-cured cover has a low enough void content that this simply does not arise.
There is a service argument too. These covers come off during work on the valve train, and a part whose fastener bosses have distorted turns a routine job into an argument with a torque wrench. The original fixing pattern is retained so the standard procedure applies.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Diavel V4, 2023 to 2026, on the V4 Granturismo engine. Fit with the engine cold, using the original fasteners and the workshop torque figures — carbon is less forgiving of over-tightening than the original plastic.
Road Approval
No ABE and no EC type-approval is published by Fullsix. These are engine trim parts with no effect on any approved characteristic; confirm the position for your registration before road use.
Tell Whoever Services It
This is worth saying out loud because it is the failure mode that catches people. A technician who does not know the cylinder covers are carbon will torque them by the feel appropriate to the original plastic, and carbon does not give the same warning before a boss cracks.
Mention it when the motorcycle goes in, or put a note in the service book. The parts are perfectly durable in normal use; they are vulnerable exactly once, on refitting by someone working from habit.
