DescriptionThe whole story▼
The clutch cover is on the right of the engine, opposite the alternator, and it is the one of the three engine covers most likely to be removed by a mechanic. Clutch work, oil changes and anti-hop clutch fitment all pass through this face, which makes the quality of the fastener holes more relevant here than on a panel that goes on once.
Key Features
- Cover over the clutch housing, direct replacement for the original
- 245 Twill weave in clear coat, matt or raw
- Autoclave-cured laminate with moulded rather than drilled fastener locations
- Original fasteners and mounting points, clutch untouched
- Matches the electronics and alternator covers for the same model run
A Cover That Comes Off Again
Composite parts fail at the fastener, and they fail from repeated over-tightening rather than from one heavy pull. On a cover that will be removed several times over the life of the motorcycle, that matters more than it does elsewhere.
Use the original fasteners and the original torque figure, and do not add a spring washer that was not there before. If a cover has to be pulled down to seat, something else is wrong.
Fitment and Compatibility
BMW S1000RR, model years 2019 through 2026, on the original cover fixings. Machines with an aftermarket slipper clutch or a modified cover will need the fit checked against the parts already fitted.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. It does not open the engine case, but confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
Oil and the Finish
This is the face oil runs down during a change, and the one a drip lands on when a filter comes off. Neither the carbon nor modern lacquer is harmed by that, but lacquer is the layer that eventually shows where a wipe was not quite quick enough.
Raw is unbothered, cheapest, and the obvious answer for a motorcycle that gets worked on. Matt is nearly as forgiving. Clear coat is for a machine where the engine covers are part of the display rather than part of the service schedule.
